Unique metal structures

Welding is as complex as it is exciting. Professional welding masters, as well as enthusiasts of this craft, can create incredible works with their own hands.

When you hear welding, the first thing you imagine is joining two metals with an electrode. However, that is not all this machine can do; in creating every piece, the craftsman’s hands play an important role, and even more decisive in the process is human imagination. You may not have heard of them, or perhaps you have come across them – works of art created through welding. Welding processes open up many creative purposes and ideas. Working with welds requires special skills and a great deal of imagination and creativity. The result is originality and uniqueness  of the finished product.

To create metal pieces through welding, a transformer, welding machine, or inverter is used. The choice is based on accessibility, special features, and the preferences of the metal structure’s creator. With the help of an electrode, a solid metal structure is formed. This, however, is not an easy task and requires a lot of practice and experience, because even the slightest mistake would cost the perfect look of the metal artwork.

For creating this type of metal piece, an inverter is recommended, as it is easily portable and uses less electricity.

“Kea in Flight”

This masterpiece, created from a metal structure and human imagination, has its own author, whose name is Nye Mac Lellan. The phrase "golden hands" certainly applies to Nye Mac Lellan, who creates unique metal structures worthy of a gallery.

This is a bird symbolizing human freedom and the boundless possibilities that welding art offers us. It is conceived entirely from metal materials, and the patterns the bird has are part of the professional’s craftsmanship in selecting suitable metals to weld with high-quality machines.

When it comes to artistic work with metals, this field includes not only dedicated professionals but also amateur enthusiasts.

Welding is an extremely exciting and captivating process. Anyone involved in welding knows that joining two parts requires not only technique but also imagination. The welding process related to creating a work of art can be manual or use more advanced techniques such as robotics, lasers, or friction welding. Professionals in „welding art“, as well as those who consider themselves amateurs, can express their creativity through skill and mastery in welding. These people not only build boats, customize cars, or produce commercial kitchens; they also work on creative pieces for personal enjoyment and use. They produce highly practical items such as barbecues, lamps, and even staircases. They also produce incredible artistic works inspired by nature, emotions, experiences, and other sources.

Amateur welders reveal their creative sense and skills by creating unique masterpieces in welding art.Mark Ostle designed a curved staircase that, as you can see from the photo, has details that make the author’s execution even more complex. Everything is refined down to the smallest detail, and the result can be described in one word – perfection.

The staircase spirals upward around a wooden trunk. The steps are made of wood, and the railing is created from an entirely metal structure. The metal structure includes leaf elements  and other fine details that require, in addition to a good welding tool, skilled hands, creative thinking, and a solid knowledge of art. This work is by Adam Pippos.

Do you agree that it is a pleasure to cook and enjoy food outdoors?

Whether roasting food over a campfire or cooking burgers on the barbecue over the weekend.

This is exactly what inspires Adam Pippos to create a barbecue through welding methods, artistic skills, and a love of unconventional art. The piece in the photo is called Assie Croc Fireplace BBQ.

The barbecue is made from a metal structure resembling a crocodile’s body. An interesting concept and an unconventional take on uniqueness give rise to a product that would impress any guest at home.

Enthusiasts of this art create incredible wonders with their hands. Welding is not solely work; these activities reveal unique abilities of humankind. This gift allows people to develop their creativity and give free rein to their imagination. It is a way to express ourselves through the art of welding.

Every year, Kemppi organizes a welding art competition called Kemppi Australia and gives professionals and amateur artists the opportunity to take part and show their skills, craftsmanship, and creative thinking. The competition is held in Australia and New Zealand. It showcases "welding art", which can take the form of a welded sculpture, model design, motif, or object. The welding process can be manual or use more advanced techniques such as robotics, lasers, or friction welding.

Contest participants compete for a prize fund of four awards consisting of a combination of Kemppi welding machines, helmets, and clothing.
